ICE! and Gaylord National Resort Travel Deal

Horse and CarriageGaylord National Resort’s annual Christmas on the Potomac celebrations have a new crowned jewel for the holiday celebrations.  In addition to the 60-foot glass Christmas tree, 2 million Christmas lights, and a nightly indoor snowfall, this year the Gaylord National Resort celebrates the holidays with a new 2 million pound ice attraction appropriately called ICE!

ICE! has been a signature holiday attraction at the other Gaylord Resorts but this is the first year ICE!  is featured at the National Harbor’s property.  The ICE! figures have been carved from 5,000 blocksICE! Slide of ice and features scenes with larger-than-life walk-through attractions, a Nativity Scene, Christmas Castle, a 25-foot tall ice angel and four two story high slides, among others!  The master carvers who devote a month to create the ICE! exhibit come from Harbin, China, an area that has a legacy of ice-carving tradition.  General admission is $24.50.  Discounts apply to children (ages 4-12) $13; Miliary and Seniors $18; and children of Military $10.

After walking through ICE! you can try your luck on another new feature–the Ice Skating Rink.  This outdoor rink is open daily (weather permitting) and tickets are $8 per person.  Skate rentals are available for visitors who don’t bring their own.

Christmas TreeIf you haven’t seen ICE! you have until January 10, 2010 and if you want to enjoy some of the nearly 800 different activities and entertainment at the Gaylord National Resort, you can take advantage of a special hotel rate  ($119 Sun-Thurs/$129 Fri-Sat) that’s exclusive to Travel’n On Radio Show.
