The Center for Responsible Travel (CREST) is a policy-oriented research institute affiliated with Stanford University and headquartered in Washington, DC. It is committed to using tourism – the world’s largest industry — as a tool for poverty reduction and biodiversity conservation.  Its international network of experts provides interdisciplinary analysis and innovative solutions through consultancies, research, field projects, publications, conferences and courses.  Essentially the mission is to “Transform the Way the World Travels”.  Its core programs include: Travelers’ Philanthropy, Market Research and Trends, Coastal and Marine Tourism, Indigenous and Community Tourism, and Certification. 

The United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (UN.GIFT) is based on a simple principle: human trafficking is a crime of such magnitude and atrocity that it requires a global, multi-stakeholder strategy to address it.

UN.GIFT was established in 2007 as the first global inter-agency initiative made up of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights (OHCHR), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), aimed at combating human trafficking.
