This broadcast is a favorite legacy show that we produced under our old name Travel’n On and before re-branding as WORLD FOOTPRINTS. Voluntourism is a great way of contributing to social causes while traveling.

Ian and Tonya welcome John Sexton, CEO of Sexton Executive Security, who shares some must-know safety tips for when you travel. Then – make a difference on your next vacation, Ian and Tonya get you in the know about one of the fastest-growing travel niches- Voluntourism.

John Sexton, security consultant

John Sexton has been a security professional since 1978 with extensive law enforcement experience in the United States and Europe. He is a former Virginia and New York City Law Enforcement Officer and he served as a special investigator for the United Nations on the front lines of war-torn Bosnia, Serbia, and Croatia in the mid-90s. His experience with counter-terrorism investigations in Europe qualifies him to help counter the terrorist threats of the new millennium. He has authored numerous articles on security-related topics for international publications and is a key resource for government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. He is also co-chair of the unlicensed activities committee for PISA and sits on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers and the Council of International Investigators. He belongs to several International associations and travels extensively not only as a highly sought-after consultant but also to foster relations and build strategic alliances around the world. He has authored a book on executive protection for those interested in entering the field.
